4. Asennus
Before first use, ensure your workspace is clean, well-ventilated, and adequately lit. Gather all necessary materials, including your airbrush, air compressor, air hose, paints, and cleaning supplies.
4.1. Connecting the Airbrush to an Air Source
- Varmista, että ilmakompressorisi on sammutettu ja paineeton.
- Connect one end of your air hose to the air outlet of your compressor.
- Connect the other end of the air hose to the air inlet port at the bottom of the airbrush handle. Ensure a secure, airtight connection.
4.2. Attaching the Paint Cup
- Select the appropriate paint cup (2ml, 5ml, or 13ml) for your project.
- Gently screw the chosen paint cup into the designated port on top of the airbrush body until it is finger-tight. Do not overtighten.

5. Operating the Airbrush
The Fengda FE-186 is a dual-action airbrush, meaning the trigger controls both air and paint flow independently.
5.1. Preparing Paint
- Always thin your paint to the manufacturer's recommended consistency for airbrushing. The consistency should be similar to milk.
- Strain your paint through a fine mesh filter to remove any particles that could clog the nozzle.
- Pour the prepared paint into the attached gravity feed cup. Do not overfill.
5.2. Adjusting Air Pressure
- Turn on your air compressor and set the desired air pressure. A common starting point is 15-30 PSI, but this will vary depending on paint type and desired effect.
5.3. Dual-Action Control
- Ilmavirta: Press the trigger down to release air. This should be done before any paint is released to ensure a smooth start.
- Paint Flow: While holding the trigger down for air, pull the trigger back to release paint. The further you pull back, the more paint will be released, creating a wider spray pattern.
- Pysähdys: To stop spraying, push the trigger forward first to stop paint flow, then release the trigger upwards to stop air flow. This prevents paint from drying on the needle tip.
5.4. Micro Air Regulator Knob
The front Micro Air Regulator Knob allows for fine-tuning of the air pressure directly at the airbrush. Turning the knob clockwise will decrease air pressure, and counter-clockwise will increase it. This feature is useful for quick adjustments without needing to go back to the compressor.

6. Huolto ja puhdistus
Proper cleaning and maintenance are crucial for the longevity and optimal performance of your airbrush. Clean your airbrush immediately after each use.
6.1. Quick Cleaning (Between Colors or Short Breaks)
- Tyhjennä kupista mahdolliset jäljellä olevat maalit.
- Add a small amount of appropriate cleaner (water for acrylics, solvent for enamels/lacquers) to the paint cup.
- Back-flush: Cover the nozzle cap with your finger or a cap and press the trigger for air. Bubbles will appear in the paint cup, cleaning the inside of the nozzle.
- Spray the cleaner through the airbrush onto a paper towel until it sprays clear. Repeat if necessary.
6.2. Deep Cleaning (After Each Session)
- Perform a quick clean as described above.
- Unscrew and remove the paint cup. Clean it thoroughly with a brush and cleaner.
- Unscrew the nozzle cap and needle chuck. Carefully remove the needle by pulling it straight back from the rear of the airbrush. Clean the needle with a cloth dampened with cleaner.
- Carefully unscrew the nozzle. Use a specialized nozzle cleaning brush and cleaner to clean the inside of the nozzle. Be extremely gentle as the nozzle is delicate.
- Clean the airbrush body, especially the paint channel, with a pipe cleaner or cotton swab and cleaner.
- Reassemble the airbrush in reverse order. Ensure the nozzle is screwed on gently but firmly. Insert the needle carefully, pushing it forward until it seats properly, then tighten the needle chuck.
Tärkeää: Be careful not to lose the small orange O-ring located at the bottom of where the cup screws in during cleaning. It is crucial for a proper seal.
